BSD-based UUCP sends data with even parity; SCO expects no parity. Add "" P_ZERO to the chat script in the BSD machine's Systems or L.sys file. For example:
xnxbox Any uucp 19200 5553333 "" P_ZERO "" \r in:--in: nuucp
