Mac OS X 10.3 Panther Little Black Book

Order (or just read more about) Mac OS X 10.3 Panther Little Black Book  from Amazon.com

Actually, there's nothing "little" about this. It's over 500 pages of very precise and specific Panther detail. Don't let the redundant title (OS Ten 10.3 ???) set you back: this is a good guide to Panther.

I liked that the author didn't completely ignore Terminal. There are some mistakes here and there:

If you're a power user, you'll be pleased to know that such shells
as zsh, csh, tcsh and plain old share (are) also available for
Panther.

The Share shell? A little later:

However, Unix doesn't search the directory you are currently in.

Right: Unix doesn't search anything, and Bash etc. search $PATH..

But this is nit-picking. This book is worth having if you are new to Panther (and are not we all?).

Got something to add? Send me email.

Words, damned words. They never mean what I want them to mean. <Smile>
