Novell has announceed that it will be transitioning to Linux (see https://australianit.news.com.au/articles/0,7204,6305811%5E15321%5E%5Enbv%5E15306,00.html (link dead, sorry) .
I've had some folks express bewilderment at this, and at least one person scornfully asked "What do they know about Linux?". Well, actually, they know quite a bit.
Novell actually owned the Unix source code before they sold it to SCO a few years back (bet they wish they hadn't now). Also, if you ever looked into Novell system calls, that OS was very "unixy" - these guys know their way around Unix, so this move to Linux not only makes sense, but they bring real value to the table.
Microsoft may have just about killed them off, but this may be a renweal.
