Socially responsible - not Microsoft

The Parnassus fund is a "socially responsible" fund - no companies making money from alcohol, tobacco, etc. I was interested to read in Forbes that they don't buy Microsoft - because Microsoft is a bully to smaller competitors. Now they are making me feel guilty.. I buy Microsoft stock - not because I like their business tactics anymore than Parnassus does, but because I think of it as a win no matter what: if their dirty tactics cause them to continue to prosper, I'll be happy with my financial gains. On the other hand, if Linux etc. does push them back to less prominence, I'll be happy that the S.O.B's got what they deserve.

Got something to add? Send me email.
