Hi,
I am looking for a consulting company or service for the following situation:

We run a Video rental store software application developed in SCO Xenix in our 4 stores plus a head-office located in Portugal. This Xenix appliction was originally developed by a former UK based software company called HIT Video, no longer active. Thus no support is now available for this product. However we are extremely happy with it and various, some even largish UK Video/DVD rental chains such as Choices, still use this particular software be it in it's DOS, Xenix or SCO Openserver (Unix ?) version .

When Harris IT decided 3 years ago to pack it in, they did however provide for a OS upgrade to SCO Openserver version so that some OS support could at least continue, in light of SCO Xenix's demise.

We did not perform this upgrade mainly due to budgetary constraints and the then exhorbitant cost of the SCO Openserver OS product.

My query is as follows. If I sent a prospetive company a copy of the original HIT VIDEO application software, their last ever Y2K upgrade, perhaps one or more video store data and even the actual SCO Xenix OS could they actually adapt this to a fully functional Linux variation ?

Sorry for my ignorance since this is probably more complex and not so easily achievable, but I am merely curious to find out if this is economically viable.

Thanks and here is hoping someone replies as soon as possible.
