LDAP is not reachable from mail clients

I installed LDAP on a separate SCO 5.0.5 server on our LAN (not the one that runs mail). I can search information from the unix command line. When I try to search from Outlook, I get the message: Failed to open connection to LDAP Directory System: server.company.com. Any suggestions?
