We are using oracle 7 on sco openserver 5.0.5.The client side is windows machine running oracle client.How can I see the number of users working on the system as who command does not give any information on clients connected through oracle client?
Also I need to take backup in the afternoon.How can I send message to users in this scenerio?
Again the requirement is that at backup time the working user should remain logged in but new users should not be able to login. We tried by going to init 1 which logs out all users. init s also does not help as any one can log in(I have tried logging in from a telnet client which works in init s condition).

Any one knowing some solution....?
