Unixware

EAGAIN error -->Re Fork failing, but WHY?? I'm not familiar with Speedware. But the fact that you've installed the UDK runtime sets off a possible alarm: are the Speedware binaries you're running UnixWare binaries? I've done some kernel analysis below. I didn't look into the UDK shim libraries. It is possible that the UDK libc's fork() function does more than just call the underlying OpenServer fork(); it might do other things which could also return EAGAIN; or it might in fact set errno = EAGAIN itself, under certain conditions.

find large files -->Find Largest Files   1997-2004
- Recently a single line script was posted to UGU to list the largest files in a filesystem in order of descending size. The script worked as posted on AIX but required tweaking for SCO OSR5 and UW7 (and Linux). -

Unixware 7.1.0 floppy needed   2008 11
- I'm installing a unixware 7.1.0 software on a server to replace an older server. When i go to install the boot floppys the first disk reads fine. the second disk will not read. I downloaded the second disk boot image from the caldera ftp site but I get the same error. I downloaded the 7.1.1 images and they work fine so I know my rawrite and floppy are fine but I cant install 7.1.0 from 7.1.1 boot disks. I even recreated the disks from the first CD but the second disk still fails. -

Unixware 7 Incoming PPP   2000 04
- "Virgin" Unixware 7.1 or 7.1.1 system (a system that hasn't been messed' with in trying to setup incoming PPP). This is the best place to start. If you've tried to setup PPP and have failed, you may need to restore your settings to their default state before proceeding. (Notes on some of those are listed below). If you plan on logging in as root', keep your security level to low or traditional. -

Unixware 7.0.1   1999 01  2010/04/09 TonyLawrence
- UnixWare 7.0.1. My first install of 7.0.1 was actually 13 installs. This was a setup of a classroom for a SCO sponsored Unixware workshop. The machines were essentially identical: all HP E45 servers with 64 meg of ram and 4.2 gig SCSI drives. -

- Tony Lawrence-UnixWare 7 Review. Supposedly, you can run on a 486DX with 500 MB of disk and 16 MB of memory. That's a crippled system, however: plan on Pentium, 64MB and 1GB or more. -

Unixware /dev/term/00 access -->Re Problems accessing/dev/term/00 (COM1) in SCO UnixWare 7.1   1997-2004
- All releases of UnixWare 7 issued so far have a bug in the serial driver which prevents the COM ports from being used unless you cross pins DCD and DTR on the UnixWare side of the connection; this has been confirmed by SCO and a patch is in progress (I've tested a beta copy of the patch and the problem seems fixed now). In the meantime, if you want to access a UnixWare 7 system via an enabled serial port, make sure you build a cable with DCD and DTR pins crossed (UnixWare side) and you'll be fine. -
