Starting your first commerce web site
Today I had a long conversation with someone who was here to clean my floors. Cleaning floors is a part time business for him, but what he'd really like to do is sell products on the web. I hear that all the time. Most people don't have even the vaguest idea of what to sell, but this guy actually has a product: a unique line of Christian oriented bumper stickers that he creates himself. He also has ideas for other products in the same vein.
WordPress on Mac OS X Leopard For some time now I've had in the back of my mind that I ought to learn something about WordPress. It's not that I'd want to use it myself, but a lot of other folks do use it so it could be smart to know something about it. This was brought to the front of my mind by a recent comment at my post about Numly tags. Basically somebody has a WordPress plugin that doesn't work and I volunteered to take a look at it.
My First Look at WordPress Plugins As I mentioned the post just before this, I want to learn a bit more about Wordpress, specificaly plugins (no, I won't be doing any theme designs!). As it happened, someone had read my post about generating Numly tags and they happened to have a non-working plugin that was supposed to get Numly tags automatically. As the plugin was published under a GNU license, I agreed to take a look at it.
