Troubleshooting

(NEWEST POST)
Troubleshooting: Try something different Many years ago, I did some consulting work for a local weekly newspaper. They had a mixed network of Unix machines, a Novell server, and quite a few Macs. I worked mostly on the Unix side, but one morning I was asked to run down to Editorial because there was some major problem. The person doing the asking was the President, so I suppose he wasn't really asking. He looked upset.
Power failures and IP addresses A long time customer called on Thursday. "We had a power failure in part of the building yesterday and now some stuff doesn't work. Can you come down?"
Dead Rat fixes computer problem This is a story of how a dead rat solved a problem. Well, maybe. Actually, at this writing I still don't know what the problem is, but, thanks to a dead rat or two, I do know what the problem isn't.
