Rare Xenix spotted in the wild
I'm sure there are no breeding pairs left, but every now and then I hear of a Xenix machine still wheezing away in some small company.
Understanding Serial Wiring I have seen intelligent adult human beings brought to the very edge of insanity by the (anticipated) simple connection of a terminal or a printer to a Unix system. I have seen the aftermath of such installations: solder-burned fingers, floors littered with clipped off RJ-11 phone connectors, and wires ending in amazing combinations of store-bought null modems, gender changers and straight-thru cable connectors.
Log Serial Port Data to a Specified Logfile Eventually I plan to add more features, like logging to syslog, so I can get timestamps, which Multitech doesn't currently support on their routers. No warranty, and use at your own risk! (Seems to work fine in my environment, though) You could also port this to a win32 environment too.
