Switching to a Mac - not yet Last night Quickbooks balked at emailing invoices. That's something that we do a lot more often than we used to. I still send copies by postal mail to be sure the invoices get there, but the email function is great. Unfortunately, Quickbooks now wants me to spend a few hundred dollars to upgrade if I want to keep that feature.
Death of the command line It's hard for me to imagine using an OS without a strong command line. Even Microsoft has recognized the for that with their Monad Shell ( though they are at least temporarily removing that from Vista). Linux of course has its Bash shell, Mac OS X has Terminal (which now defaults to Bash) - everybody knows you need a shell.
Snow Leopard is not lying to you When I upgraded to Snow Leopard, my free disk space jumped impressively, going from 52% used to just 37% - a savings of 11,514,359,808 bytes. Most of that is probably due to dropping Universal Binaries - no point to those as Snow Leopard only works on Intel Macs (Rosetta, which lets you *run* Power PC binaries, is still an optional install). None of it has anything to do with Apple's "Base 10 change".
