Google recently added a publisher tab to their Ad Planner tool. This lets us, the publishers, tell potential advertisers more about our sites. For example, here's aplawrence.com as you'd see it in Google Ad Planner. All the stats are pulled from Google Analytics and other sources; the only things I tell them are the site categories, a description and a link to an advertising information page.
This certainly makes Ad Planner a more valuable tool for advertisers. They can zero in on desired demographics and get very accurate data on sites. I'm not sure it really helps a small publisher like me - you'd have to hit a lucky combination of desired demographics to have APLawrence.com pop into view - the larger sites tend to drown out the little guys for almost any search. However, advertisers do find sites in other ways and this now lets them get reliable information more easily than they could previously.

Unix/Linux/Mac OS X support by phone, email or on-site: Support Rates
This is a Unix/Linux resource website. It contains technical articles about Unix, Linux and general computing related subjects, opinion, news, help files, how-to's, tutorials and more. We appreciate comments and article submissions.
Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.
Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.

Google's certificate prevents my browser from displaying the publisher tab. I am truly untrusted ;-)

And yet they want us to trust them :-)
Doesn't seem fair, does it?

It's possible that you need to have an AdWords or Adsense account to view those pages.. I don't really know.

Thanks for the tip. I am not sure whether the potential advertisers really look into this information, but it cannot hurt to have it displayed.
