PROBLEM: FOR SCO OPENSERVER 5.0.0:
I have upgraded my system from SCO XENIX/UNIX to SCO OpenServer
Enterprise Release 5.0.0, and when I log in to the system
on /dev/tty01 I get the error:
LOGIN: Upgrade license missing
Overriding system login limit on tty01 only
to allow emergency system administration.
Login attempts on other ttys fail with this message:
LOGIN: Upgrade license missing
FOR SCO OPENSERVER 5.0.5:
I have purchased an upgrade to SCO OpenServer Enterprise 5.0.5.
I have installed SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 using a license I obtained
for a pre-5.0.5 OpenServer Release. After installing, when
I log in to the system from a character screen I get the warning:
LOGIN: Upgrade license missing
but logins are allowed anyway. However, login attempts from
scologin(XC) and the X Desktop are prohibited.

PROBLEM: I have an SCO OpenServer system that is experiencing
one of the two following problems:
1. The system panics but does not save a valid dump, either due to
insufficient swap/dump space or some other source corruption.
2. The system hangs and does not provide any information on the
cause of the hang.
NOTE: If the system is producing a valid dump, you won't need to
follow the instructions below; instead see TA105619, "Panic/Crash
Analysis if a dump is available".

PROBLEM: It is not possible to tune MSGSSZ as specified in the online
documentation.
The documentation states the maximum amount of kernel memory that
can be allocated to IPC messages is 16MB, determined by multiplying
MSGSEG and MSGSSZ together. But, in the same documentation, the
following parameters are listed (in bytes):
Parameter Default Min Max
-----------------------------------
MSGSEG 1 1 1
MSGSSZ 16384 8192 1048576
The product of MSGSEG*MSGSSZ is only 1048576 bytes (1MB).
Increasing either MSGSEG or MSGSSZ beyond the specified maximum
will cause the next kernel build to fail.
