Subject: KCM & nscsmuxd Supp. for NSC 7.1.1+IP
Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 14:27:49 GMT

The following Support Level Supplement (SLS) is available for downloading
from the "SLS" directory at ftp.caldera.com:

nsc1013a: Keepalive Configuration Manager (KCM) and nscsmuxd Supplement

URLs associated with this SLS are:

ftp://stage.caldera.com/SLS/nsc1013a.txt
ftp://stage.caldera.com/SLS/nsc1013a.Z

This SLS installs on the following platform(s):

UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters Release 7.1.1+IP

Description:

This SLS addresses the following issues:

1. Selecting "Last Node" or "Favored Node" as the restart policy within
the Keepalive Configuration Manager (KCM), previously resulted in
start scripts that would not start the configured daemon.

2. Users are now allowed to add snmp agents, which will connect to the
cluster-wide smux daemon, without recompiling the smux daemon with
   knowledge of the snmp agent.

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.

Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
