I can't explain this. I can't even duplicate it so I'm completely stymied. Here's the issue: several people have reported experiencing a minor display issue with Safari 4. It shows up particularly in comments and involves mis-positioning of the Gravatars. Here's what it looks like:
See? That's pretty messed up, right? But here is is from my machine, perfectly aligned:
Yes, both are from Mac OS X. My first thought was that it has to be a window size issue, but no matter how I resize it, I don't get this. Display? How could that matter?
Maybe Safari 4 isn't Safari 4? I'm using "Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16)" - if you get munged results (try http://aplawrence.com/Unixart/more_backup.html for the page displayed here), could you check your version and let me know in comments or by email?

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.

Well after looking at it more it seems some gravatars for me on comments go out of alignment but not others.
Cannot see a rhyme or reason to it but it is always the same ones that are okay and the same ones which are broken.

I actually think it is more to do with the text next to the gravatar than the actual picture.

The picture is enclosed in a "div" with a "float:left" style. Safari is supposed to wrap the text around that division - instead it's overwriting it.

Okay that makes sense.
Well beta is what Beta is I suppose.
