Mobile Software

I've successfully built customized mobile applications since 1990.

Maybe you've seen one of them.

If you use Hertz Rental Cars, you've probably seen the Number One Club mobile application on one of their buses.

If you've ever taken a taxi in London, chances are you saw my Dial-a-Cab mobile application.

Special Features

While my applications contain the standard functionality found in mobile software, they also have several special features.

1. Wireless and Wireline Connections

My applications typically support both wireless and wireline connections.

If the mobile is out of wireless coverage, the user can plug into an available telephone line and continue working.

2. Automated Software Maintenance

Software upgrades can be downloaded and installed via wireline or wireless connections.

There's no need for the mobile user to come to a central location to receive new or fixed software.

Version checking guarantees that the mobile is loaded with the current software.

Software downloads are maintained and performed by my Server software.

3. Signature Capture And Transmission

Customer signatures can be captured, compressed, and transmitted a connected host.

4. Various Wireless Interfaces

  • Various RF Protocols
  • Active Server Pages
  • CDMA
  • CDPD
  • Dial-In
  • Dial-Out
Dial-a-Cab Mobile Terminal

I've worked with Dial-a-Cab since 1988 and recently teamed up with them and Microbus to develop a totally custom built mobile computer for Dial-a-Cab's fleet of 2000 taxis. This new mobile computer is fully compatible with the existing radio system and actually co-exists with the old mobile data terminals which are gradually being phased out.

This new mobile computer is the talk of the London taxi trade!
