I was just about to leave for Doug's party, when your message
appeared. If I'm late or miss something important, it's your fault.

One of these days, I'll figure out what all that debug info means.
However, the connect()=-1 is fairly obvious. Your print server was
lonely while you were gone, and has decided to not accept any of your
excuses as to why you were gone. My cat does the same thing.

Ok. So, if you talk to it nicely, it will cooperate. My cat does the
same thing.

You were using OSR5 with the COFF version? OSR5 wants the ELF
version. COFF is for 3.2v4.x. As far as I know, both binaries are
static linked. A change of binary flavour at this point is not a good
idea. My cat doesn't like diet changes either.

It's a web pile, not webcite. You want me to miss Doug's party just
to test the COFF version of netcat on OSR5? Surely you jest.
However, you may have found a problem as I didn't build the COFF
version. Some un-named culprit sent it to me since I had to remove my
C compiler from my 3.2v4.2 system to regain some needed diskspace.
I'll test it after forum and after I clean up the mess my cat is sure
to leave because I'm gone.
>(presumably I broke some binary that was dynamically linked in ...?)
So, download a fresh copy. Perhaps the binary on my web pile is
busted, corrupted, or trashed. I'll do a CRC comparison later.
>What the hell?
I'd explain, but there's not enough time to explain how to get there
from here. Suffice to say that hell is in the general downward
direction. I'm teaching the cat to type. Perhaps he can explain.
