jumping in to clarify...
It's not that it can't be done, it's that you don't have that type of
license.
You don't have a regular stand-alone enterprise licence, you have a desktop
license, and a desktop-enterprise upgrade license.
If you enter the desktop-enterprise upgrade license at the first install
prompt, it will correctly deny you from performing a full fresh enterprise
install with only an upgrade license, which costs a lot less than a full new
license. otherwise we could all by cheap upgrades only and get full installs
with them. :)
So in your case you must follow the path of your licenses. install desktop,
then upgrade to enterprise.
