But Chris wants them to be different colours as well (or his customers do). TermLite 1.0.7 online help documents only -host, -port, and -proto (telnet | tcp/ip | vtp | netbios) as command line options. Apparenly you can't name an alternative saved configuration file.
However, help also says that TermLite merely needs all its files
in the same Windows directory, which implies that you could create
a new directory containing shortcuts to _all_ of the "real"
TermLite files and a real, different configuration file, as
often as necessary.
Does this also cover us for location of window on screen?
That's how I keep multiple hosts straight in my own mind.
Other projects include using a batch file to swap around separate
versions of the configuration file and _then_ launch TermLite -
or would Chris get away with setting up TermLite as VT320
although evidently the application only supports VT100,
i.e. is there enough backward compatibility for that to work
while also allowing TermLite to accept colour change commands
from the host?
if [ $TERM = vt320 ]
then
setcolor lurid clashing
export TERM=vt100
fi
- since telnet clients of course can report the name of their
emulation standard to the server at the start of the session -
although some (TinyTERM 4.20.1306) allow cheating.

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.
Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
