Well I only meant that the tech support expressed great surprise that I didn't have to
set an ip address for each interface. Subsequent models use one IP/multi port. Not
this model which requires separate IP interfaces. However thanks I didn't know that
much about *how* it actually worked apart from a vague notion. :)
The only other oddity is that this XL was made in Puerto Rico! hmmmm..
Yeah I know what you mean about the ports page.. I saw it.. noted it.. lost it! But I
have the port numbers already thanks. You may be interested in this page.. the

where I have had some further information.. may be valuable to anyone trying to get
these things working.
I just read your notes on netcat.. it seems like the only way to go for a uniform way
