Posted by Tony Lawrence
Search Keys: email, mailing lists, archives
Referencing: http://lurker.sourceforge.net/
An interesting project, particularly in light of Gmail. The description at Lurker:
After being subscribed to interesting mailing lists, lurker archives all
incoming mail into a database. Old mail can also be imported. Once mail is
in the database, lurker can help you search the unending noise for those gems
you need to read.
That's exactly how I've been using Gmail with the mailing lists etc. that I subscribe to: scan 'em quickly and archive 'em so they'll be there when I am searching for something later.
