SCO Microsoft's Puppet?

Mon Sep 15 13:20:38 GMT 2003 SCO Microsoft's Puppet?

Link: Is Microsoft Technology's Legal Puppet-Master?

I dunno. Harry Rider makes some good conjecture toward that, but I suspect more simple explanations are sufficient. Still, I'd never say Microsoft lacked the necessary devious and unscrupulous nature necessary for this.

But would SCO really enter such a Faustian bargain? This is helping the dragon harvest pigs, and we all know what happens when the pigs are all gone. Would SCO really be so short sighted that they'd want to help Microsoft kill the only thing in the world that could save their own sorry butts?

Maybe. If so, SCO will no doubt get a special place in the history of computing. The "infamous traitors" section isn't where I'd want to end up, but people do pretty awful things in pursuit of money.

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.

Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
