I have no idea how real this link is or if real, how serious the effect really is, but it sounds plausible.
It would be quite the hoot if true. I can see Microsoft lobbying for trade protection from "illegal" UK software, can't you?

@loudmouthman: well, a digital signature could prove it hadn't been altered. Text is no more insecure than anything else in that sense.
