In case you didn't notice, there's an option at the bottom of each page now that let's you subscribe to new posting info here by email. I used to have a mailing list for that years ago, but I dropped it when I switched to RSS.
That was a mistake. Apparently some folks just don't like RSS, or prefer email. I didn't understand that (and nobody complained), but I see my error now. One of the sites that helped me understand my error was Successful Blog, where a recent article noted:
So, mea culpa, sorry 'bout that, mail notifications are reinstated.
The mail list is handled by FeedBurner. You can sign up, and opt out easily. If you do sign up, keep in mind that your mail filters can see this type of thing as spam, so you may need to white-list "feedburner.com".

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.
Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.

Tony,
Could you please fix up the way you post preformatted text? There's no reason for a horizontal scroll bar above, and the vertical one is pretty unnecessary also, given the limited amount of pre-text you posted. This is a comment on the fullstyle page; the actual article page renders it in an even smaller space.

I thought I explained this completely at http://aplawrence.com/Web/scroll_bars.html
You say "no reason", but although that may be true for your browser at your resolution and your font size, it isn't generally true.
The scroll bars are necessary to prevent cutting off of text by some browsers. If your browser doesn't need them, it shouldn't be displaying them (I see no vertical or horizontal scroll bars on this page with Firefox on my 17" MacBook for example).
What I've been trying to do is avoid PRE entirely, but I slipped here.
I'll change it..
You could also use the "Plain" or "No Border" style sheets (select those at the main index page - http://aplawrence.com
Those "stick" with you for other pages and may eliminate your problem.

Some articles just don't make it past the initial visual filter.
I've never bothered to notice how different some webpages such
as this one render on different browsers. Unfortunately, I've
avoided using Firefox for the simple reason that it doesn't
process PgUp/PgDn on most pages the way I expect it to, and
despite bug reports over the years, they've yet to fix it.
I'll continue this discussion on your scroll bar page.

And I will try to not use PRE
Pg up and page down work with Firefox on my Mac.. I do have to click in the window first, of course, and on the Mac it's Fn-Pgup, but it does work (though I use the double finger track pad to scroll)

What's the issue with PGUP/DN? Seems ok to me on Windows Xp???
(though I have to say that IE7 is really better than Firefox now - except for plugins)

1. You have to click in the window (or frame) first before you can Pg Up/Pg Dn when there's no specific cursor focus, e.g., http://aplawrence.com/Blog/fullstyle.html
2. It doesn't work at all on pages like http://www.adobe.com/products/ even after clicking somewhere on the page. Up and down arrows work if the cursor is first placed in the middle of the table, but fails when it reaches the top or bottom. Interestingly, the scroll wheel on my mouse works as expected.
This is on WinXP Pro, fully patched, using latest FF. Repeatable on other XP machines with FF in our office.
