lpd lock file permissions

My syslog is filling up with the following but I cannopt find out how to stop it.

Any ideas please?

I'd guess you have changed perms in your lpd spool directory. You forgot to mention what OS you are running, but it's going to be /var/spool/lpd or something like it.

Somebody did some chmod's they shouldn't have. The lock files need to have proper perms for the lpd daemon.

Or the lp/lpd programs themselves got changed and are no longer suid correctly..
