Order (or just read more about) Windows 98 Annoyances- David A. Karp
Personally, using any non-Unix OS is annoying just because it isn't Unix, but it's certainly true that Win98 reaches new heights for ticking you off. This book recognizes that and gives you the tools you need to make it at least somewhat better.
The author isn't a Windows basher, but neither is he a Windows apologist. He obviously knows his subject, but isn't wearing any rose colored glasses: he gives Win98 credit for those parts that are done well, but pulls no punches on the rest.
If you have Win98 machines as clients, this should be a useful reference. It's an enjoyable reading experience, and you'll probably learn a thing or two. The book includes a CDROM with a demo version of the O'Reilly Windows 98 Utilities.
Most of the information in this book is also available at www.annoyances.org.

Many of the products and books I review are things I purchased for my own use. Some were given to me specifically for the purpose of reviewing them. I resell or can earn commissions from the sale of some of these items. Links within these pages may be affiliate links that pay me for referring you to them. That's mostly insignificant amounts of money; whenever it is not I have made my relationship plain. I also may own stock in companies mentioned here. If you have any question, please do feel free to contact me.
Specific links that take you to pages that allow you to purchase the item I reviewed are very likely to pay me a commission. Many of the books I review were given to me by the publishers specifically for the purpose of writing a review. These gifts and referral fees do not affect my opinions; I often give bad reviews anyway.
